Ok, let's take compare the actual seedings, with the seeding I would give according to my rankings. I will also look at who should not have made it and who should have.
(Actual Seed--Team--My Seed)
1-Ohio State-1
1-Kansas-1
1-UNC-2
1-Florida-2
2-Wisconsin-2
2-Georgetown-1
2-Memphis-1
2-UCLA-4
3-Oregon-3
3-Pitt-3
3-Washington St.-3
3-Texas A&M-3
(Wow, good job NCAA selection committee!)
4-Maryland-5
4-S. Illinois-4
4-Texas-2
4-Virginia-8
(Virginia is overrated.)
5-Butler-7
5-Virginia Tech-8
5-USC-6
5-Tennessee-6
(Hmm, all the 5 seeds are overrated...hence the famous #12 over #5 upsets.)
6-Notre Dame-4
6-Duke-8
6-Vanderbilt-10
6-Louisville-5
(Look for Vandy to get upset. I'm surprised I am so high on ND.)
7-UNLV-5
7-Indiana-NIT
7-B.C.-NIT
7-Nevada-4
(Lot's of discrepancy here, Indiana was on the bubble for me, BC is lucky to be in the tourney.)
8-Arizona-9
8-Kentucky-9
8-Marquette-8
8-BYU-6
(Pretty good agreement overall.)
9-Purdue-NIT
9-Villanova-7
9-Michigan St.-10
9-Xavier-6
(I think I have Xavier overrated here, but Purdue should not be in.)
10-Georgia Tech-NIT
10-Gonzaga-12
10-Texas Tech-9
10-Creighton-10
(Georgia Tech was another bubble team for me, so I don't disagree too much here.)
11-Winthrop-5
11-VCU-11
11-Geo. Wash.-11
11-Stanford-NIT
(Winthrop is highly underrated, Stanford is highly overrated.)
12-ODU-12
12-Illinois-NIT
12-Arkansas-12
12-Long Beach St.-13
(Great agreement here, Illinois barely missed my bracket.)
13-Davidson-7
13-Holy Cross-13
13-New Mexico St.-13
13-Albany-14
(Give some love to Davidson...the Terps had better be careful.)
14-Miami(OH)-14
14-Wright St.-13
14-Oral Roberts-15
14-Penn-14
(Keep in mind that Oral Roberts won at Kansas early in the season.)
15-Tex. A&M C.C.-14
15-Weber St.-16
15-Belmont-15
15-North Texas-15
(The Islanders of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi could give Wisconsin a run for their money.)
16-Jackson St.-16
16a-Niagara-15
16b-Florida A&M-16
16-E. Kentucky-16
16-C. Connecticut St.-16
-----
Ok, so here are the teams again that should NOT have made the tourney, based on my rankings: Stanford, Boston College, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Illinois
Instead of those 6 teams, I had these teams ranked higher: Syracuse, West Virginia, Vermont, Air Force, Akron, and Oklahoma State
Obviously no one has perfect rankings, so I will concede that Vermont, Akron, and Air Force are overrated in my poll. After all, if you are a mid-major and you can not win your conference tourney, you probably don't belong. And since Oklahoma State won ZERO road games this year, send them to the NIT as well. Since I removed three of my bubble teams, I will relinquish that Illinois, Indiana, and Georgia Tech are more deserving. This leaves the argument at Stanford & Boston College vs. Syracuse vs. West Virginia. I will simply look at key wins (against tourney teams) vs. key losses (against non-tourney teams) to prove my point.
Syracuse (22-10, 10-6) key wins: vs. Penn 78-60, vs. Holy Cross 72-64, @ Marquette 70-58, vs. Villanova 75-64, vs. Georgetown 72-58 key losses: vs. Wichita St. 64-61, @ Oklahoma St. 72-68, vs. Drexel 84-79, @ St. John's 64-60, @ UConn 67-60
---I thought the Georgetown win made them deserving for the tourney. Really their only bad loss was at St. John's.
West Virginia (22-9, 9-7) key wins: vs. Villanova 67-56, vs. UCLA 70-65 key losses: @ Cincy 96-83, @ Providence 64-61
---Weak schedule, yes. Inconsistent, yes. But shouldn't their win against UCLA prove they are deserving?
Boston College (20-11, 10-6) key wins: vs. Michigan St. 65-58, vs. Maryland 73-62, vs. Virginia 78-73, vs. Virginia Tech 80-59 key losses: vs. Vermont 77-63, @ Providence 73-64, vs. Duquesne 98-93, @ Clemson 74-54
---Quite frankly the most inconsistent, overrated team in the tourney. Any team that loses HOME GAME to DUQUESNE, should feel lucky they made the NIT.
Stanford (18-12, 10-8) key wins: vs. Texas Tech 70-59, @ Virginia 76-75, vs. Washington St. 71-68, vs. USC 65-50, vs. UCLA 75-68, vs. Oregon 88-69 key losses: vs. Air Force 79-45, vs. Santa Clara 62-46, vs. Cal 67-63, @ Washington 64-52
---Yet another inconsistent team. They were the only team to win at Virginia this year, and have a couple good home wins against UCLA and Oregon. But I think that is overshadowed by their 34 point home loss to Air Force and their 16 point home loss to Santa Clara.
Sure you can make arguments for all four teams, but in my opinion, the Orange and Mountaineers should be in the tournament, not the Cardinal and Eagles.

Coming Soon...
It's finally March and that means Spring Training is here again! This weekend I will begin posting on the upcoming MLB season. I will evaluate each team on various factors that I deem importantant, and list my power rankings. Over the next two weeks, after researching each team thoroughly, I will post my projected standings and playoff scenario. Although I plan on starting this process over the weekend, I do not expect to finish until Spring Break in two weeks. For a bit of a tease, I will rate one or two variables that will go into my power rankings and post them this weekend.
